This website, www.foundry120.com, is operated by the University of Glasgow, School of Infection and Immunity, 120 University Avenue, Glasgow G12 8TA. Foundry120 is a research platform built and run within that School. Throughout these terms, “we” and “us” mean the University of Glasgow.

By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

This site describes what the Foundry120 platform does. It is informational. It has no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms: the only way to contact us from this site is the email address.

The site describes the platform as it stands on the date shown above. The platform is under active development, so capability described here may change, and a page may describe work that is in progress. We do not warrant that the content is complete or current, and we may change it without notice.

Foundry120 is a research operational tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not intended for clinical or diagnostic purposes. Nothing on this site is clinical advice, diagnostic guidance, legal advice, or an assurance that the platform meets the regulatory requirements of your own institution or study. Those remain your assessment to make.

Nothing on this site is an offer of access to the platform, and describing a capability does not commit us to providing it to you. Access is granted separately, on the terms in section 07, and is subject to institutional approval and your own ethical approvals.

You must not:

• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the availability, security, or integrity of this site or the infrastructure serving it.
• Probe, scan, or test the security of this site or of the platform, or attempt to gain access to any part of either that is not made public.
• Retrieve content from this site at a rate or volume that degrades service for other readers, or by means designed to evade any rate limit.
• Use the site to distribute malware, or to send unsolicited commercial messages to the contact address it publishes.
• Present yourself as affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Foundry120 or the University of Glasgow when you are not.

If you believe you have found a security weakness in this site or in the platform, please report it to shaun.chuah@glasgow.ac.uk rather than testing it further.

The Foundry120 name and wordmark, and the design, copy, screenshots, and video on this site, are the intellectual property of the University of Glasgow. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

You may link to this site, and you may quote short extracts for research, teaching, reporting, or review, with attribution to Foundry120. You may not reproduce the site or substantial parts of it, present its content as your own, or use the Foundry120 name or wordmark in a way that suggests we endorse you or your work.

This site links to the platform sign-in page and to other organisations, including the University of Glasgow and the Information Commissioner’s Office. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability, or how they handle your data. A link is not an endorsement, and following one takes you out of the scope of these terms and of our privacy notice.

These website terms do not govern use of the Foundry120 platform. That is a separate agreement, accepted at sign-in, and it applies if you hold or process research data on the platform. In outline, it provides that:

• Access is granted, not open. The platform is restricted to authorised personnel and designated collaborators, and access may be withdrawn if authorisation is withdrawn or the terms are breached.
• Deidentified data only. Direct participant identifiers must not be uploaded, the platform must not hold the key linking pseudonyms to identities, and re-identification attempts are prohibited.
• Research teams retain ownership. Each team owns the data it uploads and remains responsible for ensuring its ethical approvals and consent framework permit that processing. The University acts as processor for the data held on the platform.
• Actions are recorded. Access control, permissions, and audit logging apply to platform activity, to support the research team's own governance obligations rather than replace them.
• AI features are for research use. Helix operates over approved research data with stated provenance, and its outputs must not be used for clinical purposes.
• Scots law governs it. The platform terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, as are these website terms.

The full set is broader than the terms alone. It includes a privacy notice for platform users, an acceptable use policy, a data processing agreement, a data sharing agreement, a data retention policy, a data access request procedure, an incident and breach response procedure, an ethics compliance declaration, a service level agreement, and a sub-processor register naming every third party that processes data on the platform’s behalf.

The Platform Reference Guide, the Platform User Agreement, and the platform user privacy notice are on the resources page. The remaining documents are published inside the platform, and we will send them to a team carrying out a governance review. Ask at shaun.chuah@glasgow.ac.uk. Where the summary above and the platform documents differ, the platform documents apply.

We provide this site on a reasonable-endeavours basis. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of error, and we may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it, or the whole of it, without notice. The site is served by a third-party hosting provider, named in our privacy policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, or from your reliance on anything published on it, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or wasted expenditure.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, and the effective date at the top of the page changes when the terms do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of this website, are governed by the laws of Scotland and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
